Men in the en-suite (yes, we do wash)
Men are spending an increased amount of time in the bathroom, particularly Generation X and Y in comparison to earlier generations. It is increasingly becoming a trend for men to use grooming products and consider their image — more now than ever before. The influence to do so is usually encouraged by partners, peers or marketing. Lets face it, men have always been vain but have managed to hide it under a masculine exterior for the better part of 2000 years.

Where to put it (storage in the ensuite)
If space permits, the most appropriate way to store both men’s and women’s grooming products would be to keep them entirely separate in allocated storage cupboards. This could be achieved using tallboys attached to the wall or creating pull-out drawers at the end of the bath. In smaller spaces, this may not always be possible. Allocating drawers underneath the basin for specified personal products is the next best option. Another great way to hide products is by using mirror cabinets, as the internal shelving provides adequate storage space while giving any bathroom area a seamless and tidy finish.

To double or not to double basin (do we need them?)
A double basin has become more popular in areas with large spaces; however, it is not always necessary. In smaller areas it is best to have a single basin and provide clients with increased bench space.

The great escape (setting the mood)
The most important aspect of a ensuite is creating a space to escape. Establishing a relaxed, calm atmosphere is a key component to a successful ensuite. It is quite common for clients to increase the size of the ensuite and request that the toilet be kept separate, perhaps with a small basin. This arrangement works particularly well with clients who only have space for one bathroom as it reduces the disturbances of everyday life when someone is soaking in the bathtub.
