In another positive initiative for the environment, a new Water Conservation Scheme (devised by the nations' water authorities) has been implemented to allow purchasers to see at a glance how efficiently an appliance or plumbing product uses water.
Major water using appliances and plumbing products now also have a rating. Manufacturers can submit products to Standards Australia who will confirm its water efficiency and give an "A" rating.
The product can then display a Water Conservation label which has up to
three "A"s prominently displayed. The more "A"s, the
more water efficient the product is. AAA- an excellent rating
AA- a high rating
A- an acceptable level of water efficiency.
